Colonialism in Global Perspective
Kris Manjapra
Traditional history-writing, because of its compartmentalizations, fails to grasp the relations between different histories, peoples, and sociological processes produced in and through modern colonialism. This book highlights the relations between histories that are often studied separately and in isolation from each other. Based on vivid and concrete historical examples, we see how colonialism is comprised of a diverse set of operations and logics, binding together distinct and non-equivalent communities in matrices of interdependence.
