Eduard Drumont
It intervenes in France in a context of moral crisis which follows the defeat of 1870 , of religious crisis consecutive to the secularism wanted by the Third Republic and the emergence of an economic liberalism which results in malaise and social tensions. Responsibility for the resounding crash of the Union Générale in 1882 is attributed in particular by Drumont to the deliberate action of the Rothschild bank.
